‘Madonna’ is a woven textile and fashion design collection based on the artist Madonna and her 1980’s film ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection explores ideas of femininity, feminism, marriage and different views of what it means to be a women. Ashley looked at different gender roles and the fashion associated with them, such as power dressing, lingerie and wedding dresses in the 1980’s. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The textiles are all handwoven by Ashley using upcycled yarns, including a statement collar woven with neon pink washing line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
